Description: Coral Begonias feature large, fleshy, bright green leaves adorned with small white spots. Their pink flowers cascade in hanging clusters, adding further charm to their appearance.

Origin: Hailing from the tropical regions of Mexico, also known as Begonia tamaya, Begonia maculata, and Begonia bambú.

History: Coral Begonias have been utilized as indoor, terrace, or patio plants and in gardens as standalone specimens, weather permitting.

Care: They require partial shade exposure, avoiding direct sunlight during midday hours, and when grown indoors, they need ample light without direct sun. They don't tolerate low temperatures (below 10 ºC).

The soil should be loose, rich in organic matter, and well-draining but not excessively. Transplanting them to a larger pot every three years and changing the soil is advisable.

Water regularly every 10 days during the growth season, avoiding waterlogging, as excessive watering may lead to root rot.

Minimal pruning is necessary, only removing old or dry leaves.

During spring, fertilize every 15 days with indoor plant mineral fertilizer.

Coral Begonias are prone to fungal diseases caused by excess water.

Propagation can be achieved by sowing seeds in spring or through stem cuttings at the end of spring.
