Lampranthus Roseus also known as Portulacas is a succulent plant which belongs to the aizoaceaes family.
It is composed by tiny fleshy leaves and showy fuchia flowers in spring.
Great adaptability to sea areas, even for first line of the beach.
This is a perennial plant which normally last above three years, but very frequently it is replaced every spring.
Easy to grow, just we need to check out that we don't water too much and to trim it when flowers are over.
Thrives much better in sandy soils, even not too rich.
We usually use it as a ground cover, or as a hanging plant, in flowers beds and rockeris or walls, also at the edges of troughs.
Another plant to be used as a ground cover is for example  Rock Rose,
