Cordiflora or Rock Rose is a succulent plant that belongs to the family aizoaceae. It is very striking by its fleshy and glossy green leaves, and by the red color of its flowers.

Aptenia Cordifolia is not very exigent about the soil, it just need a good drainage and, to add organic fertilizer in spring and  summer for a better growing.  It is ideal like a ground cover plant. Its growth is so fast and compact that prevents the growing of other herbs.
Can be attacked by aphids and red spider, but is not so common. Neither it is usual to be affected by diseases if we have well-drained soils.
We can prune it at the end of the winter, since it tends to suffer with low temperatures and it becomes yellowish, or early spring, cutting the plant with the desired size or more aggressively if we want to rejuvenate it.
