The Lotus berthelotti  also known as Lotus is a herbaceous evergreen plant that belongs to the family of the fabaceaes.

One of its attractions resides on the striking colour of its flowers and the shape of them.

It is usually used both, as a ground cover plant or a hanging basket plant.

It works like an indoor plant as far as it receives plenty of light.

Lotus needs sandy soils or with good drainage, what makes it a good plant for rockeries.

It can be multiplied by seeds in spring or in summer by cuttings.

Prune Lotus by the end of the winter to encourage flowering and shape.

This plant is not usually affected by any type disease,  but can suffer because of an excess of water.

Feed your plant every 15 days during the spring and summer with a fertilizer for succulents.
