Decorating your house with plants - after Christmas

Although January is the coldest of the months, it doesn't have to be the darkest. By adding light elements together with neutral tones we will achieve an atmosphere with more light and therefore more joy.

Plants once again play a very important role, which is why decorating your home with plants after Christmas is a very appealing idea.

From Viveros González, we offer you many ideas so that depending on the place you have you can create that new atmosphere yourself and without making a big investment!!!

There are as many ideas as there are people!!!!

For the entrance of the house

If you have light, we love a simple orchid with a nice pot or a group of them if the place is more spacious, it will be enough to brighten up the room.

If it's rather dark, we'd go for a group of selaginellas, soleirolias or/and hypoestes.

If you have space in front of a window

Make sure that when the sun comes in, it is not at the time when it is strongest, so that the leaves do not get burnt by the glass.

There are countless options that are very easy to put into practice: from hanging plants such as asparagus, ribbons, philodendroms, to small or large collections that will give a very natural touch to the place and can also become a hobby for recreation and relaxation.

We can go for cacti and cacti that are easy to maintain and also use from pots and planters to glass jars, decorated tins, baskets, old cups and whatever we can think of to get a more personal and authentic touch.

A corner

Make sure it is going to have some light, although there are also plants that resist much better the lack of light... aspidistras, raphis, crasas, yuccas, zamias, sansiverias...

We will have to take into account the space we have available:

If the place is narrow: sansiverias, yuccas, kenthia, schefflera arborícola, dracenas, will not take up much space and will fill the place with life.

The living room or lounge

If we have a space with natural light the greenhouse is served.

Ficus liratas, ficus elastica, strelittiza augusta, candelabra euphorbias, arecas, kenthias, ficus, dracenas, pothos, philodendrons, beaucarneas, practically any indoor plant will thrive without any problems.

A good specimen is going to be the focus of all eyes and, if we also show it off in a magnificent pot, we will give additional value to both the chosen plant and the decoration of the place itself.

Bathroom

The bathroom is an area where hot air and steam condense, so there is humidity and a warm temperature.

Plants that can cope well with these conditions are: ferns, potos, philodendrons, chamaedoreas, ivy, spathiphillum, crotons, fittonias, calatheas, papirus, bamboos and even yuccas.

If we add that the bathroom has little light, they will go well: phytonias, aspidistras, philodendrons, shefflera arbolícolas, soleirolia or selaginelas.

Decorating your home with plants after Christmas is a real pleasure, and if you choose low-maintenance plants you will always enjoy a pleasant atmosphere that you can keep for a long time.
