Name

Se trata de una planta fácil de cuidar y resistente. Atrae polinizadores como abejas y mariposas debido a sus flores. Se puede propagar por esquejes o división de raíces. Aunque es perenne, en climas muy fríos puede necesitar algo de protección invernal.

Height

It typically grows to a height of 20 to 30 cm, making it a compact plant suitable for borders and gardens.

Colour

The foliage is a striking chocolate-brown with purple tones. The small flowers are bright yellow.

Flowering

It blooms in summer, from late spring to early fall, producing small flowers that contrast beautifully with the dark foliage.

Location

Prefers partial shade or semi-shade but can tolerate some direct sunlight if the soil remains moist. Ideal for gardens, pathways, and containers.

Irrigation

Requires regular watering to keep the soil moist, especially in warm or dry climates. It does not tolerate prolonged drought or waterlogged soil.

Sowing distance

For optimal growth and a good visual effect, plant with a spacing of 30 to 40 cm between each plant.

Applications

It is excellent for garden borders, flower beds, and as ground cover in shaded areas. It is also used in ornamental gardens for adding color and texture to spaces.

Note

It is easy to care for and resilient. Attracts pollinators such as bees and butterflies due to its flowers. Can be propagated by cuttings or root division. Though perennial, it may need some winter protection in very cold climates.
