Berbeirs thunbergii "harlequin" or red barberry plant native to Asia that belongs to the Berberidaceae family.

It is a deciduous bush with thorns, it can reach one and a half meters high and wide, which makes it perfect to form hedges.

His leaves are of purple color with whitish tones, usually gives flowers between spring and summer being these of yellow color.

During the autumn some reddish blackish berries sprout, which are used in traditional medicine as an astringent.

It is ideal for decorating gardens and balconies, because it is a plant that likes the sun, not requiring much water.

The pests that can affect this plant are caterpillars and aphids, apply a specific treatment to combat them.
