Lantana Camara or Big Sage is a hardy evergreen shrub which belongs to the verbenaceaes family.
It has a very vigorous growth and needs to be pruned to control it and to keep it into a nice shape. If we want to have a plant of similar characteristics but less growth we can use the variety "Lantana Sellowiana"
Quite resistant to high temperatures and to drought, but very sensitive to low temperatures.
Good election for coastal areas, although not for being growth on first line beach.
Plenty of showy flowers which will be a place to be visited by butterflies.
This shrub will have a nicer and bushier shape , if we prune it from autumn to spring, even we can trim the plant quite low to rejuvenate it.
Thrive in any type of soil which is well drained.
In terms of pests we need to keep an eye for it not to be attacked by white fly or mealy bug.
