Magnifera Indica or Mango is an evergreen tree on the anacardiaceaes family.
Besides its value as a plant cultivated by its fruit, the mango is an interesting tree as ornamental for its beautiful leaves, in addition to its canopy between horizontal and spherical.
When it grows from seeds, in its habitat, can get to even 30 meters high, but the grafted ones are much more smaller, it will depends also whether it grows alone or together with some other trees.
Once the tree is well established, after two or three years, it is drought tolerant, in fact mango thrives much better in climates where there are periods of rain alternating with periods of droughts.
It can be planted in any type of soils, although the ideal one should be between 5.5 and 7.0 ph. It is also important it gets the right nutrients based on nitrogens, potassium, phosphorus and other microelements.
It should not be exposed to the wind, although Magnifera indica resists much better than avocado.
Need to be pruned to keep the tree with a beautiful shape . Get rid as well of broken and old branches.
