The Streptosolen Jamesonii is an evergreen shrub that belongs to the solanaceae family.

The most interesting thing of this shrub is its abundant orange flowers and tubular form which appears in terminal panicles, as if it were a bouquets.

The Streprosolen Jamesonii needs good and rich soils to thrives.

Feed it once in winter and use a liquid fertilizer uring the spring a liquid fertilizer.

In warm climates it blooms in winter until spring and in the rest from spring and summer.

Prune Streptosolen once the flowers are over, even you can go ahead with a strong trim right  back from the bottom, mainly if the plant is weak or  ungraceful, or if it has been injured by the very low temperatures or by the freeze, it normally will revive.

Streptosolen Jamesonii can be affected by some pests like:

-Aphids which can be treated by "Dimethoate"

-Red spider by  "Abamectina"

-Mealy bugs which can be treated by mineral oils together with some specific insecticide.

Before using any chemical try to wash the plant with water and soap and keep those quemicals for when it is strongly affected.
