Sunpatiens is a hybrid plant developed by Sakata that meets the expectations of any gardening lover.
Created to locate in areas of direct sun, with impressive colourful flowering, long-lasting and showy.
Resistant to high temperatures.
In shady areas it tends to develop longer stems that can be controlled by means of light prunings, although it will bloom much less.
Although it is a perennial plant is often used as annual, as we replace many of them every spring, especially in climates of warm temperature where it overwinters outdoors.
In areas with cold climates we can cultivate Sunpatiens indoors with much, much light and pleasant temperature.
Sunpatiens needs a rich soil as a good substrate. irrigation should be done frequently until the roots are well established, then it can be reduced.
To obtain a major flowering and a more long lasting one, a good option is to use special fertilizers for flowering.
As for the prunings it is suitable to realize them especially when the stems are too long. Also by the end of the winter or the beginning of spring.
Presents no problems of pests or diseases.
Its rounded shape makes it suitable for use in pots or hanging baskets, also for colourful hedges or in groups in the garden.
