Description:

The genus Diosma comprises plants belonging to the Rutaceae family, with nearly 200 species of flowering plants. Commonly known as Diosma, they are evergreen shrubs with a rounded growth habit and fast growth reaching almost half a meter in height. Their leaves are feathery, composed of small aromatic dark green leaves, thin and pointed at the end. They bear abundant small star-shaped flowers, which can be white or slightly pink. They bloom from mid-winter to almost late spring and can re-bloom at other times of the year.

Origin:

Diosma originates from various geographical regions, adapting to different climates and soils.

History:

The history of Diosma dates back to its discovery and use by various cultures over time.

Watering:

Diosma requires moderate watering, waiting for the soil to dry out before watering again. It tolerates drought well, so it is important to avoid overwatering to prevent root rot problems.

Pruning:

It is recommended to perform light pruning of the longer branches after spring flowering to maintain a rounded shape. This practice helps promote healthy and aesthetic growth of the plant.

Care:

Diosma is a hardy plant that is not usually susceptible to pests and diseases. It benefits from well-drained soil with some organic matter. Propagation can be done from seeds sown in spring or by cuttings taken in summer.
