Jasminum Officinale or Real Jasmine is an evergreen climber of very fragrant flowers on the family of the oleáceas.
This the  Jasmine par excellence and will cover pergolas, walls or trellises, and can even be grown like a shrub, for  our enjoyment during the summer evenings.
It is  recommended to prune  Jasmine quite low in winter so that we have a stronger plant during the following season and to stimulate a larger number of flowers from spring until the following winter, also for avoid a tangled plant since it has a very vigorous growth.
It needs  a well fertilized soil and a good drainage system.
Jasmine thrives better when we situate it in an area of partial shade, better that in a place of too much strong sun.
It might suffer from aphids, spider mites, or  white mealy bugs when it is located in a hot and dry environment, but not of diseases.
So shower your jasmine now and then to keep it clean and get rid of the broken and week branches to make the air circulate throughout the plant.
