The curry plant is an aromatic herb closely resembling lavender in appearance, with grayish leaves arranged in a pinnate fashion. Its flowers are remarkably beautiful, displaying an intense yellow color. Flowering typically occurs between the months of May and September, depending on the region.

It is characterized by its intense and pleasant aroma reminiscent of curry spice, hence its popular name. This plant thrives in full sun and can withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -20ºC to -40ºC, making it highly adaptable to drought conditions.

Aesthetic Appeal in the Garden:

The curry plant is perfect for mixing with other species, as its silver-gray color enhances the appearance of surrounding plants. Its vibrant yellow flowers also add exceptional visual appeal to any garden setting.

Watering and Care:

The curry plant requires minimal watering to avoid waterlogging and rot. Excess water and organic matter in the soil can be detrimental. A slower growth rate, associated with moderate watering, promotes stronger plant development. Pruning in winter helps control its volume, and removing wilted flowers maintains its neat appearance.

It is advisable to fertilize monthly in spring and apply another round of fertilizer in autumn using a universal fertilizer. This regimen helps maintain the plant's health and vigor.

While highly resilient, excess water can lead to fungal issues that may prove fatal. However, under suitable conditions, this plant demonstrates exceptional strength and can endure harsh environments.

At Viveros González, we provide high-quality curry plants along with expert guidance for cultivation, ensuring our customers can successfully enjoy this beautiful and aromatic plant in their gardens for years to come.
