The Viburnum Tinus or Laurestine is a shrub or small tree belonging to the family of the Adoxaceaes.
It is an evergreen plant of dark green colour leaves, which reminds us of the laurel.
It grows in a rounded shape, giving spectacular white flowers during the end of the winter or during spring, and fruits from spring time on.
The Viburnum Tinus needs rich, and well drained soil.
We can prune it after flowering to provide it of an attractive shape, or to clean the plant by eliminating the broken or weaker branches.
It is a very resistant shrub, which even supports alcalike soils. Does not like very much strong winds, or very cold temperatures, however it can recover well after frosts.
It s drought resistant and good for coastal areas.
