Description:

Crassula arborescens is one of the most well-known succulents belonging to the Crassulaceae family. The appeal of this plant lies in its grayish-green leaves with reddish edges and its bushy growth habit, which can reach up to a meter in height.

Origin:

This plant is native to South Africa, where it is found in arid and semi-arid climates.

History:

Crassula arborescens has been valued for its beauty and ease of care for a long time. Its popularity has led to its cultivation in different parts of the world.

Watering:

Like all Crassulas, it requires plenty of sunlight throughout the year. Avoid placing it facing north. Watering should be done in spring and summer when the surface is dry.

Pruning:

Crassula arborescens does not require pruning, although we should remove wilted leaves to prevent the invasion of pests and diseases.

Care:

Transplanting is done in spring with a special compost for cacti mixed with sand. Start fertilizing in spring until late summer, with a balanced fertilizer containing nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. If we have neglected it a bit, certain anomalies may appear, such as a rotten stem if we have overwatered the plant; if its leaves lose color, it means we have watered our plant too little. If we notice spots on the underside of the leaf, it may have been attacked by scale insects.
