 Agave Attenuata

Origin:

Belongs to the family Agavaceae.

Description:

It is a succulent of great ornamental value that develops in a rosette form with large, soft leaves of a muted green or grayish color that can measure around 60 cm or more.

History:

The flower appears in mature specimens in the form of a long stalk that twists upon itself, reproducing pods with seeds that give rise to new plants while the mother plant dies.

Care:

Agave Attenuata should be placed in full sun and in soils with very good drainage, preferably enriched. They thrive well in coastal areas. It is advisable to fertilize with compost in summer and water abundantly during this season. In autumn, watering should be reduced to about 2 times a month, with no watering in winter.

Watering:

In summer, it should be watered abundantly, while in autumn it is reduced to about 2 times a month, avoiding watering in winter.

Pruning:

Old leaves from the bottom of the plant can be removed to maintain a clean and aesthetically pleasing trunk.

Curiosity:

No diseases or parasites are commonly observed in Agave Attenuata. However, leaf rot due to excess water could occur in some cases.
