Pelargonium citrodorum, also known as lemon geranium or mosquito-repellent geranium, is a perennial plant in the Geraniaceae family, highly valued for its colorful blooms and its ability to repel mosquitoes thanks to its distinctive citronella scent.

This plant has thick, green leaves that, when brushed or cut, release an intense citrus aroma similar to citronella, making it a natural option for keeping mosquitoes away. Its five-petaled flowers range in color from pink to violet, with a darker coloration in the center of the upper petals, creating attractive patterns. Flowering typically begins in late winter and can extend well into summer, depending on the climate.

Pelargonium citrodorum is ideal for growing in pots, on balconies, or in gardens, as it requires little care and is resistant to sunny conditions. In addition to its ornamental value, its aroma acts as a natural mosquito repellent, making it an eco-friendly alternative to chemical repellents.
