Cyclamen Persicum is a herbaceous evergreen tuberous plant, which normally is grown as an annual pot plant and which belongs to the primulaceae family.

It is an easy plant to cultivate if we provide it of some basic care:

Best not to water if the substrate is moist, since the leaves will begin to be yellow and its stems will not remain upright, which also run the risk of more diseases.

A lack of water will also cause its flowers and stems to vanish.

A good way to water is to immerse half of the pot or container in a bowl with water until the substrate become moist.

Needs rich and well drained soil and we can use fertilizer every two weeks while the plant has the flowers.

It is also important to get rid of wilted flowers and leaves to extend the life of the plant and its blossoming.

It is frost tender, but needs cold temperatures, not less than -1º C, which means it is not going to do well in rooms with heaters.

So that we can keep our plant for the following year, at the beginning of the summer we will cut all the wilted stems, place it  in a fresh area, stop fertilising, and will reduce the quantity of water. From October on to December, Cyclamen Persicum will start a new flowering, although possible not as intense as the one of the previous year.
